Question : 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.4L Problems!?
I love my car very much and have been very patient with it and all the problems it's had. It had a bad over heating problem and come to find out it was the Intake Gasket. I got it fixed but yesterday, as I was coming home from work, the car just "Blahed" out. I didn't lose much power I could still stay at 55-60. It didn't make a loud Noise just a little constant tinging. The check engine light was flashing on and off the whole way home. I work 35 mins away and drove it like that for probably 25 mins. My father thinks it is a bad lifter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:
could be a lifter, but i doubt it. if the check engine light is on, well then go to autozone and get it scanned for free. to replace the intake gasket, you have to take out the pushrods. the intake pushrod is a differnt size then the exhaust. if someone switched the pushrods, well then thats probably the noise your hearing.good luck

Question : I'm a big time weight lifter, but I need faith?
Ok, I've been working out for 4 months and i've been doing the workouts in a correct way. I got the wii fit so I get excersize on that. I lift dumbbells. With the dumbells I do the right amount of moves for each muscle, (arms and shoulders). Then I wait 48 hours before I work on them again so the muscles can heal. On the second day I work on my back and chest by doing dumbbell presses, incline presses, and the butterfly. I hit the treddmill everyday if I haven't done any long walking. And out of all of that I'm seeing only 7% inprovement. Should I give up or should I keep working at it? My dad says it takes time to build mucsles but obviously i'm not patient:(

Answer:
ok so if you want to gain muscle take creatine and protein! and stop running for godsakes..lol..if you want to loose fat then keep lifting and running the way you are! if you feel like you have to lose a lot of fat then go on a diet too and if you really really have to lose extreme fat then do more cardio than weights, try skipping like professional boxers, go on a diet, and take fat burners! and it doesnt really take that long to get muscles! with the right suplements you can build up fast. but to get that six pack! well yeah that does take a while! the rest is all fun and games!

Question : Nurses! Is this a good idea?
When I was spending a lot of time on the oncology floor of a children's hospital I was amazed and saddened at how these families literally lived in their child's hospital rooms for weeks and months at a time. It was very isolating in addition to the devastation of having a sick child. When my friend's son was there getting food from outside the hospital was difficult and expensive but a great mood lifter for them. I know it is a small thing, but I was considering going to some local restaurants that would deliver to th hospital and put together a book of menus for the oncology floor and see if I could negotiate discounts for patients and get some gift certificates donated. Would this be helpful? Who would I go to at the hospital to suggest this? Any other small things that could make a difference for these families? I would appreciate your expert advice. Thank you.

Answer:
Wow what a fantastic idea! We were one of those families-living in a hospital room for a long time when my baby had leukemia & a bone marrow transplant. The bright spot of my day was getting something brought to me for lunch. That is so nice of you to think of that.

Question : Horrendous Experience courtesy Shoppers Stop !!?
I went to Shoppers Stop for pre-Diwali shopping with my sis and Gf. Until the payment everything went fine. However, while leaving the premises after paying for the clothes the gate starts beeping when my sister and Gf pass through it. So we show them the bills and they let my Gf go. However my sister had an extra t-shirt in her handbag (which she had got as a gift & NOT purchased that day) which the security guys demanded a receipt of. Now as it was purchased from a different company from a different place altogether, we obviously couldn't produce a bill, so this makes the security staff doubt us for shop lifting. So they take us to their manager who listens to the explanation and apparently believes the security guy. When we were asked to explain, we told the manager that we agree that we don't have a bill for the t-shirt, but we have a genuine reason for the same & in any case the gate had beeped even when my Gf was passing through; but according to the manager this wasn’t enough of a reason. Hence, he calls a counter girl who was in charge of that particular brand. Meanwhile my sis, my Gf & I are waiting surrounded by these security guys like we are terrorists or dacoits. After 5-10mins the counter girl comes in and when asked if she gave the t-shirt to us to try on, she replies that she has. Till this point we 3 were patient as we thought it was a mistake with the security guys, however this was the limit. 1st we hadn’t talked to the counter girl AT ALL let alone taking products from her. Secondly when my sister and I asked her the same Q (i.e.:- if she gave the t-shirt to us to try on?) the girl was obviously nervous and replied WITHOUT any eye contact, which was the 2nd thing that made me suspicious. Then the girl also had a bar-code which she said belonged to the t-shirt which we apparently left in the dressing room (and even if we HAD hypothetically shoplifted the t-shirt, why would we leave the barcode in such an obvious place?),so the manager began checking something on his computer, I know a little about how these systems work, hence I tried looking at what he was doing, but the security guy stopped me very rudely (as though they got full proof that I’m a shop-lifter) ,that was the 3rd thing that made me doubt ,because they didn’t let me check what the manager was doing with the bar-code, which in my opinion meant that he could have changed the data to frame us for something we didn’t do & whilst I was thinking this 4th thing that hit me was that most counter girls would be close by and that there wasn’t much rush at that part of the Mall as it was a weekday afternoon, yet the girl took 5-10mins to arrive, despite being called for, in such a serious matter; which meant that she was thoroughly briefed on what to say & what not to say by the time she reached the manager’s cabin. By now (seeing that all the cards were in their hands) the manager was behaving very rudely with my sister, who was almost in tears & also threatened to call the cops. My Gf who is normally a very patient and non-violent person got really irate and asked the manager to call the Police as we were the victims here, I agreed to my Gf as enough was enough, but my sister stopped us as we used to shop here often and also because she was VERY humiliated about all of this, which is very obvious. The manager gives us “one last chance” to pay for the t-shirt before he calls the cops, so my sister who had tears in her eyes & agreed to pay.Despite all this, when I asked the manager for his name, he REFUSED. Then on the way to the payment counter I asked the security guy who was “escorting” us about the manager’s name and he rudely declined, so I asked him his own name and he said “none of your business”. So we paid (for something we didn’t buy nor want) and were leaving when I said something to my Gf about the entire incident and if we should complain , the security guy overheard me and calls me a “shameless robber”, so I completely lose my mind and confront him verbally to which he calls for back up who repeat the same thing that “I shoplifted and then created a commotion like I’m innocent” I got extremely angry and would have taken the law in my own hands had it not been for my sister & Gf who both had tears in their eyes by now, due to the utter humiliation by the staff of Shoppers Stop.{PS: - I am in a position to get a receipt from my sister’s friend for the t-shirt so we can prove the purchase of the t-shirt, however after the behavior of the staff till now, I don’t think they would believe us in any case.}A humble plea to whoever takes the time and reads this utterly shocking experience of mine to please put yourself in my place and advise me of what should be done next to prove my innocence, keeping in mind that the dignity of my sis and my Gf should be intact. As I can’t stop thinking about this and I really do NOT want to take law in my own hands as I respect the law VERY much. Thanks in advance.

Answer:
Did she receive the gift that day prior to going into the store? If so, why not just leave it in the car or do you not have a car or vehicle? I would go back to the store with both receipts. I would give the full story about the gifted shirt. I would say look I just want this to be right. You get further when you are nice and matter of fact. Just say that you want it to be right. It's a financial burden and wrong to pay for the same shirt twice, which is what was done. The store should also be able to verify with inventory that one of those shirts is missing but that might be difficult and time consuming. Who is to say that someone didn't shop lift one of them. It's not fool proof. This would really bother me if I knew I was right and I would not stop until justice was done. Do what you can. If it's not enough then you know that you did all that you could. In MA, we have consumer protection. I believe it's illegal for retailers to compare receipts with what is in the bag or carts. Bj's and Wal-Mart check receipts at the door. I found out recently that it's illegal for them to check the contents against the cart. I thought well then what's the point. Look into that law for your state.
